NORSA is an organisation representing the Norwegian students' interests at all the higher education facilities in Edinburgh. NORSA was established in 1952 at Heriot Watt University, but has come to represent students at University of Edinburgh, Napier University, Queen Margaret University and Edinburgh College of Art. There are around 200 Norwegian students in Edinburgh, and over 100 of these are members of NORSA (2005)

NORSA is associated with ANSA ( Association of Norwegian Students Abroad) and also represents their interests in Edinburgh. The board of NORSA consists of a comittee elected at the annual general assembly. It consists of 7 people who run the organisation according to the procedures outlined in the Constitution.

NORSA is both a social and curricular organisation. Socially, we host events such as the 17th of May celebration in Edinburgh together with the Honorary Norwegian Consulate General (one of the largest celebrations of the Norwegian national day abroad).

On the curricular side, we host business presentations where Norwegian and British companies present themselves and answer questions from the students. There has also been held interviews so that the students get a chance to market themselves to the businesses. The types of businesses and institutions holding presentations have been diverse and seek to cover all the fields of study.

In addition to hosting events, NORSA also has the mission of being a link between the students and the General Consulate in Edinburgh. NORSA is also the link between the students and ANSA UK and ANSA headquarters.

Membership of NORSA is £8 (+£2 for last years students, including lifelong membership and a diploma). As a member, you get information on the latest events, discounts on tickets and 3 Edina magazines. There are no obligations to being a member, but you can keep updated with what is going on, it being social, cultural or curricular activities and events.
